According to the Center for Disease Control, nearly 70% of people over the age of 20 are overweight and nearly 35% are considered obese. In Southeast Texas these numbers are even higher, which gives us a substantial opportunity to carry out our passion for getting, and more importantly, keeping people healthy and fit! Ternion Athletics is company servicing a niche market in Southeast Texas. Our goal is to attack obesity where it begins, and help our clients fight against it for LIFE. We do this through programs designed for kids, adults, and seniors, 

We are looking for passionate individuals who have a desire to develop their experience and expertise in physical training, nutrition counseling for weight loss and performance, and business management. Here are the positions for which we are currently seeking qualified candidates.


General MANAGER / Assistant Head COACH

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Report directly to owner
  • Effectively manage all business operations including but not limited to; Sales & Marketing, Member management & Retention, Employee scheduling, Equipment maintenance and re-ordering, retail sales and product inventory, public relations, etc..

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Four year college degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health & HumanPerformance or related field preferred. Junior or Senior level at least to be considered
  • Management experience required. Not industry specific.
  • Successful completion of CrossFit Level 1 OR least one of the following personal training credentials: ACE, ACTION, AAPTE, ACSM, CSCCa, Cooper Institute, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT, NESTA, NETA, NFPT, NSCA, PTA Global, LT Academy, and plans to take CFL-1 within 6-12 weeks. 
  • Product or service sales & marketing background recommended
  • Group fitness training experience desirable

CrossFit COACH

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively train members using the Ternion Athletics "CrossFit" methods 
  • Ensure accurate attendance is kept for each class
  • Process drop-in/visitor athletes attending classes, when necessary
  • Process retail sales transactions from athletes attending classes, when necessary
  • Ensure the gym space and equipment is organized and relatively clean at the end of each session
  • Update the “Leaderboard” as needed at the end of class
  • Follow “Opening and Closing Procedures” when necessary
  • Schedule and perform effective “Intro Sessions” and other appointments
  • Perform registration procedures with new athletes/memberships
  • Weekly blog entries
  • Programming oversight of Sub-specialty courses as assigned
  • Follow-up and perform public relations activities to new and former members
  • Equipment maintenance/ordering oversight with Owners
  • Ensure the gym space and equipment is organized and relatively clean throughout shift
  • Assist and/or organize gym events
  • Assist with social media marketing

Nutrition COACH

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensures safe, comprehensive, empowering, and professional Nutrition Coaching programs
  • Coordinates seminars, group nutrition, and fitness events for members
  • Connects with our members through nutritional product sampling, hosting complimentary nutrition seminars, and/or conducting nutritional consultations
  • Coordinating programs and services like Nutrition Coaching, Grocery Store Tours and/or Healthy Living Classes
  • Promotes and sells all nutritional products, services, and Ternion fitness training plans
  • Completes and submits a monthly business review to manager
  • Facilitates in leadership and Active Coaching Discussions
  • Hosts educational/development sessions for on-boarding new trainers
  • Ensures members remain motivated to attain their personal health and fitness goals
  • Maintains clean personal workspace and assists with fitness floor & equipment cleaning
  • Attends and participates in team and individual One-on-One meetings
  • Leads nutrition consultations and coaching sessions
  • Facilitates seminars & group nutrition / fitness events for members
  • Develops and maintains a Nutrition client base
  • Promotes and sells Nutrition programs and information sessions to members
  • Complies with all company safety rules

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Four year college degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field preferred
  • Outpatient Nutrition counseling experience within the fitness industry preferred
  • Product or service sales & marketing background recommended
  • Group health, fitness or nutrition event organization/facilitation experience desirable

ATHLETE SERVICES & FACILITIES COORDINATOR

Duties & Responsibilities 

    • Keep gym office organized, clean, and functional
    • Keep track of product inventory, sales, profits, and create reports for analysis
    • Maintain Member profiles in CRM & make updates when needed! 
    • Update class schedules as needed.
    • Take Photos as needed for marketing
    • Organize photos, files, and financials in an easy to follow system.
    • Carry out marketing projects as directed by management
    • Schedule and attend Coaching and administrative team meetings
    • Make sure all utility bills, taxes, dues, subscriptions, and fees are paid timely! 
    • Track all business expenses and record transactions in Quickbooks regularly
    • Stock Restroom with paper towels and toilet paper as needed
    • Maintain first aid kit and insure we have ample bandages for all potential size/type wounds.
    • Contact local and national media regularly about Ternion Athletics community events.
    • Contact former members and prospects regularly via email, phone, or standard mail.
    • Deliver marketing materials to schools, fire stations, police stations, military offices, doctors offices, local businesses such as bars, restaurants, salons, banks, hospitals, car dealerships, local sports teams and league leaders, etc.
    • Leverage current business relationships to generate new business growth opportunities.
    • Help launch new divisions/branches/specialties (list not inclusive. Amendable)
    • Maintain consistent ideas for apparel and gym swag.
    • Assist as needed with various seasonal events and classes
    • Set up account with UPS and handle all gym shipments and returns
    • Order equipment and supplies as directed by management.

    SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING COORDINATOR

    Required skills:

    • Social media marketing
